As an active corporate citizen, we take pride in our commitment to supporting a variety of community projects. Our most recent commitment is to the Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services ACT.
Apis has stepped up to the mark as an active corporate citizen in accordance with some of our organisation’s key purposes to:
Since 2008, Apis has valued the opportunity to support the team at Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services ACT (MARSS) – a leading, not-for-profit organisation in the community services sector.
Recently, Apis provided professional paid services (at a reduced rate) for a new MARSS initiative – the inaugural Community Leadership Development Program (CLDP). It was established to develop leadership skills and confidence to better equip current and aspiring community group leaders as they support their own communities to integrate into Australian society.
Working alongside the MARSS team, Apis provided project planning and facilitation expertise and support for the customised design, delivery and evaluation of the CLDP. This comprised practical, interactive workshop modules focusing on communication, leadership and business management skills.
This program aims to give young people valuable insights into the working world. Aimed at young adults aged between 13 and 19, the program helps students transition into the job market through real-world work placements and by teaching valuable interview skills.
Apis actively supports this initiative by providing work placements for students from various ACT high schools and colleges. During their placements we ensure each student is exposed to actual business situations and interesting and relevant vocational activities so they develop an understanding of the commercial environment.
