Autism Asperger ACT Bonjour Burlesque Ball

The Apis Group proudly supported Autism Asperger ACT (AAACT) again this year by attending the Bonjour Burlesque Gala Ball at Hotel Realm on 4 August 2012. The Hotel Realm Ballroom was transformed into a sideshow of daring street theatre, a tantalising atmosphere of carnival, fire eaters, contortionists, music and Parisian Artistry.

Apis recognises the need for support for an ever-increasing number of people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the Canberra region. The event assists to meet the demands for support services as provided by the AAACT by helping to raise much needed donations.

Family Picnic

We had so much fun last year we decided to do it again! This year our venue was the beautiful grounds of Fadden Pines Park.

Family, food, drink and the Gecko Gang who provided entertainment and fun activities for the Apis kids – what more could one ask for?

While we enjoyed a fun day out we also raised some money for the Snowy Hydro South Care Medical Helicopter Service. Snowy Hydro South Care provides Aero-Medical and Rescue Helicopter services to people in the ACT and South-eastern NSW. The Rescue Helicopter has completed over 4000 missions!

Maxim Invitational charity fund raiser

Apis participated in the Maxim Invitational Tennis Tournament charity fund raiser. A rapidly growing annual event run by Maxim Chartered Accountants, the tournament brought together teams from a wide range of Canberra businesses, and a cameo appearance by former Wimbledon Champion, Pat Cash. The tournament raised more than $100,000 for the Oasis Youth Residential Service run by the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army’s Oasis has been operating in Canberra for over 30 years, providing accomodation and support to homeless young people and their families.

Christmas Party

Apis celebrated Christmas in style with a visit to Poachers Pantry to sample their famous cured meats and locally produced wines. This was followed by dinner at Westering Restaurant at Lake George Winery.

The Apis Herd dressed their best and enjoyed a gastronomic smorgasbord!

Money was raised by raffle for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions.

Apis Conference – Sea World Resort

The Apis Herd was rewarded for all their efforts over the previous year with an interstate venue being chosen for the annual conference. In October, they all jetted off from Canberra to sunny Queensland and the wild attractions of the Sea World Resort.

After two days and a night of fun-filled mayhem the Apis team arrived back in Canberra, reinvigorated for another year.

Paul Ayers joins Apis as a Principal Consultant. Paul has spent over 25 years in IT, including over 5 years as a Senior Executive in Commonwealth and State/Territory Public Service organisations. He has served as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) as well as Chief Information Office (CIO) and has maintained a balance of up-to-date technical skills and understanding with experienced executive management acumen. He brings a pragmatic and adaptable perspective to every engagement.

We proudly attended the Viva Italia Charity Ball to support Autism Asperger ACT (AAACT) at Hotel Realm on 6 August 2011.

The Viva Italia Ball was a night filled with the Italian passion for life! Consultants by day, and VIPs (Very Italian Persons) by night, the Apis Herd helped raise awareness and the need for support for people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the Canberra region.

The Apis Group looks forward to all future charity events in support of the services as provided by the AAACT.
