Apis Goes Global, Taking Canberra International Title 2016/17

Apis, a Canberra based professional services firm, has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with Tennis ACT, claiming the title sponsorship of Canberra’s marque global tennis event, The Canberra International, for both 2016 and 2017.

Apis, a Canberra based professional services firm, has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with Tennis ACT, claiming the title sponsorship of Canberra’s marque global tennis event, The Canberra International, for both 2016 and 2017.
The now ‘Apis Canberra International’, was officially confirmed last week by Tennis ACT, a 10-day Pro Tour tournament, to be held at the Canberra Tennis Centre from 29 October – 6 November 2016.
Tournament Director and Tennis ACT CEO Ross Triffitt said he is pleased to be working with Apis and is looking forward to promoting a local company internationally.“With a total prize pool of $100k and as a combined men’s and women’s event, the Apis Canberra International is Canberra’s marquis tennis event,” he said. “We look forward to working with Apis to promote an emerging organisation to the local community and the global sport scene.”

Triffitt also stated that the signing of Apis is very important for the future of Pro Tour events in Canberra.

“We are thrilled to be working with Apis. These events come at a cost to Tennis ACT and we need support from local partners like Apis to sustain them into the future.”
Apis’ primary purpose is to assist public service leaders in the effective delivery of government business.
They offer specialised solutions in project management, business design, procurement, strategic planning and program evaluation. They are a firm of practitioners, known for shaping and solving major initiatives, together with their government clients.
Apis Partner, Anthony Honeyman, said Apis is excited to be named as the title sponsor of the Apis Canberra International for the next two years.

The Apis Canberra International, a $50,000 ATP Challenger and ITF Women’s $50,000 event is the perfect lead in to the Australian Summer of Tennis. Players with ATP/WTA rankings between 100-300 will aim to improve their rankings ahead of the 2016 Australian Open. In 2015, Queensland’s Ben Mitchell completed a dream week in Canberra after fighting back from a set down to claim the Canberra International 2015 title in three sets over Luke Saville (SA). In the Women’s event, unseeded Asia Muhammad (USA) defeated the number 3 seed, Cindy Burger (NED) and number 2 seed, Eri Hozumi (JPN) to win the title.
